About the role
You will build backend services, command-line tools and automation scripts for clients who are drowning in spreadsheets and repetitive tasks. The focus is professional Python: readable code, tests, packaging and the habits that make other developers trust your work.
Roles and responsibilities
- Write clean, idiomatic Python following PEP 8
- Design small libraries and CLI tools with clear interfaces
- Integrate third-party APIs with retries, pagination and rate limits
- Build REST services with FastAPI or Flask and Pydantic models
- Write pytest suites with fixtures and mocks
- Automate reports, file processing and scheduled jobs
- Package and containerise your tools for others to run
By the end, you will be able to
- Write Python that is tested, typed and easy to maintain
- Turn a manual business process into a reliable script
- Build and document a backend API
- Use async and concurrency where they actually help
- Publish a tool others can install and use
Questions you will be able to answer
How do companies process thousands of invoices without anyone typing them in?
Why does the same code run ten times faster after a small change?
How do APIs stop people from making a million requests a second?
What makes code "production-ready" instead of "works on my laptop"?
What you might build
- A GST invoice reconciliation tool
- A REST API with tests and docs
- A scheduled reporting bot that emails Excel summaries
Every intern gets different tickets. These are examples of the kind of work, not a fixed list.

Four- and six-month internships add advanced specialisation, a major client project, open-source work and interview preparation.
